new CBR600f owner in West Midlands
Posted by: twade76 - 10-07-2016, 04:32 PM - Forum: Introduce yourself here - Replies (3)

Hello,
Bought a 2012 CBR600F a couple of weeks back.  Mint condition and only 460 miles on the clock!
Really enjoying it so far, although some low life's tried to steal it on friday morning and have smashed the steering lock and damaged the top yoke.  Putting it through the insurance as Honda have quoted me over £500 for the keyset and £250 for the yoke!
Anyway, hopefully it'll be back on the road soon.
Tom.

Around Asia then home on a Honda Cub
Posted by: stevew - 04-07-2016, 10:25 PM - Forum: General Nattering - No Replies

My son, Mat, is flying to KL  (Malaysia) on the 13th of this month, then buying a Honda EX5 (modern Cub) then plan is to wander around SE Asia for a couple of years then trundle home on it.
We both run C90s here in the UK and have a total of about 130K miles on our bikes between us.
If you want to keep up with what he's doing, find Toffee's travels on FB.

Shocked CD200 Benly - Using parts from a CB200?
Posted by: ShepCobain - 26-06-2016, 09:17 PM - Forum: General Nattering - Replies (5)

Hi guys,

Not sure this is in the right place, but here goes.... Cool

I have a CD200 Benly, however, It is currently in the middle of a project build. A friend of a friend has recently broken a CB200 and has the tank, twin exhausts, rubber fork gaiters, fork shroud headlight mounts and a front and chrome rear fender. Apparently they are all in amazing condition and he has offered them to me for a good price. This is the type of styling I am looking for in my project but I am unsure if they will fit. Sadly he is just over 80 miles away and I have no idea if they will be a straight swap or will require some modding/fabrication to fit? Currently, my fenders are none existent and the CB200's look similar to that of the CD200. The exhausts on my bike are full of holes and I was wondering if these would also be just a straight swap? or will the require modding as I have noticed the pipes on the Benly go under the foot pegs, whereas on the CB's the foot pegs go under the pipes...

Any advice on interchangeable parts would be much appreciated  Huh

Thanks in advance!  Wink

Shep.

Hi. My names Bertie; I own a rather gorgeous Honda 650 Nighthawk (1985 model); I also write regularly for a well know bike magazine so I am always interested in anyone in the B'ham area who is undertaking a project or rebuild.

  Insurance for 1973 Honda CB350 K4
Posted by: AlanE - 15-06-2016, 03:35 PM - Forum: Insurance and dealers - Replies (2)

I have just purchased a 1973 UK Honda CB350 K4.
I am struggling to get insurance for it as the insurance companies do not have a CB350 on their systems and therefore cannot provide a quote. They blame a recent (last 6 months) "data clean up problem" from Thatcham.. whereby they no longer have the model (applies to CB250 as well) on their database and hence do not know what group it is in..
They tell me it affects a good number of bikes, including some in the
I have tried Bennets, Devitt and Carole Nash.
Anybody else experienced the same problem??
I never had this problem with an imported 1974 Kawasaki H1E!!

If anyone was also a member of the cb1300 forum (cb1300.net), it seems to have disappeared. We have set up a replacement one at cb1300.icyboards.net - so go over there to continue the cb1300 banter.
