Size is important, Petrol tank, that is.
#1
Hi from France,
I noticed I was needing more pit stops than my mates, yesterday was a prime example, I switched to reserve to get to the petrol station and once filled checked the amount required 8.5 litres so this morning I decided to drain the tank and got 10 litres out of it. Haynes Manual quotes 17 litres with a 3.5 l. reserve. Mine is a 1981 CX500 Custom so the question is did they fit 10 litre tanks to some of these bikes or have I possibly got 7 litres of silt sitting there.
Looking forward to enlightenment.
Cheers,
Ken S.

The Custom model had an 11 litre tank, whereas the Standard model had 17 litres. So you may just have 1 litre of silt!
Everyone knows Red VFRs are faster than any other colour.

Could of been lined at some point that would knock it down.
