Oldest Newbie in town ?
#1
As a 70 year-old grandfather it seems a little odd describing myself as a Newbie  Rolleyes !!!   ----- However, I'm new to the forum  --- so hello to all Smile

I've been biking, more or less continuously, since I was 16, and have owned and enjoyed a few Hondas during that time - a CX500, an ST1100 Pan-European, a CBF1000, and a VFR1200 - all bought nearly new / in top condition and kept that way - and not one of them ever let me down (unlike several British bikes I used to own !) so I've always been impressed by the build quality (oh, and the awesome performance of the VFR1200 !)

As something a bit more age-appropriate ?   Cool  I've just bought an immaculate 2015 VFR800 Crossrunner with just 1000 miles on the clock, and am very pleased with it, except that the airflow over the standard low screen gives my helmet a real battering.
I will swap this for an after-market screen, and I see that MRA, Givi and Puig all do one. My preference would probably be the MRA with "laminar lip" - but have any other owners had experience of this issue and found a good solution ?  - any advice would be gratefully received

Finally, I've added a photo of the VFR800 X - the colour scheme might look a little odd, but I bought it as a white bike and not being fond of the colour, had the tank and panels professionally resprayed in the correct Honda Candy Red before collecting it from the dealer. The top box, I don't need, and  was swiftly removed when I got home

Best regards  - Dave

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum. Yes, you may be the oldest 'newbie', but we have a lot of members who have ridden for as long as you (but not me - I'm 5 years behind you]

PS - I can't see any pictures.

Thanks for the welcome, Alan and JimmyB - much appreciated

(You're just a lad then, by the sound of it, Jimmy ?)

Alan - I've tried again with the photo - hope it works this time !

All the best
Dave
