New kid...old bike! CB200
#1
Hello
Just joined.....having bought a 1977 CB200 (red). Imported from Germany via Slipstream M/Cs in Skegness. Good runner with sonic cleaned and set carbs.
3800 miles since new, only thing ‘new†on it looks like the Continental rear tyre, still with dimples on but may have been fitted 10+ years ago! Original Yokohama front tyre with lots of wear left (sadly, it will obviously be replaced). Lacquer still on forks and zinc still on spoke nipples.

Iâ€m fitting UK spec indicators and rear light, wiring these at present.
Ideally Iâ€d like to replace the German spec rear mudguard with UK....but reluctant to change too much.
Tank is off...used Rosti internal rust remover but results arenâ€t as good as I was hoping for.....so planning to sand blast the inside with a small gun and then seal.
Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Tank has a couple of small dents from a drop, from the yoke, think Iâ€ll leave as part of the history of the bike.

Otherwise.....all oils to change, new tacho cable and oil seal, front tyre change.

Any inputs, ideas, thoughts, suggestions from anyone warmly welcomed.
Hope to have it all as I want it by Spring!!

Thank you

Graeme Horne

I cleaned a tank with a bit of diesel and some nuts and bolts you will have to be very good and get all the media out of the tank, the sealant stuff i have used is good if done properly but i bought a bike it had been done badly and was all coming off inside, good luck..
